Chives are a commonly used herb, one of the finest herbs of French cuisine and our favourite when cooking baked fish. In culinary use, the scapes and the unopened, immature flower buds are diced and used as an ingredient for fish, potatoes, soups, and other dishes. Chives have insect-repelling properties that can be used in gardens to control pests.
Only one pot of Chives was enough to supply for the whole summer. At the end of July the Chives have flowered and we let the bees now enjoy the lovely purple blooms, also they look amazing as an ornamental plant.
